Terms of Service

These terms cover SidePlot, including the game at play.sideplot.app, the iPhone and Android apps, and this website. SidePlot is made by Dottie Interactive LLC. By hosting or joining a game, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use SidePlot.

Playing in real life

SidePlot happens in a real room with real people. The plots are suggestions for harmless, playful conversation, and you're responsible for how you carry them out.

• Never do anything unsafe, unwanted or against the law to finish a plot. No plot is worth it.
• Respect people's boundaries, including people who aren't playing. If someone isn't enjoying it, stop.
• You can always reroll or skip your plot. Nobody is ever required to do anything.
• Hosts: play with people who know a game is going on, and pick the Family setting when kids are playing.

Using SidePlot

• There are no accounts. Your device gets an anonymous player ID so you can rejoin your game.
• Players under 13 should play with a parent or guardian hosting.
• Please don't harass or impersonate other players, try to break or overload the service, scrape it, read other players' plots, or use it for anything illegal.

What you type

Display names and the notes you write are shown to the other players in your game. Keep them friendly: nothing hateful, threatening, or that you don't have the right to share. You keep whatever rights you have in what you type, and you give us permission to store it and show it to your game so SidePlot can work. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.

Pro packs

The core game and the free pack are free. Some extra mission packs are paid, and belong to the host who buys them. Guests never pay to join a game. Purchases made in the iPhone or Android app are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds follow their policies. Any other purchase terms will be shown at checkout.

Our stuff

The game, the plots, the artwork and the SidePlot name belong to Dottie Interactive LLC. You get a personal, non-transferable license to play. Please don't copy the plots into another product.

Changes to the game

We're actively working on SidePlot. Features, packs and plots may change or go away. We'll try to give notice when something big changes.

No warranty

SidePlot is provided “as is”. We don't promise it will always be available or free of bugs, and we're not responsible for blown cover stories, surprise yeehaws, or anyone finding out what you were up to. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the past twelve months.

Ending things

You can stop using SidePlot any time. Your games delete themselves, as described in the Privacy Policy. We can block access for anyone who breaks these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
